5 simple steps to Live in the moment + Connect with your intuition

In today’s world, it’s so easy to get distracted and lose sight of your true purpose. We’re over stimulated with our mobile phones, our to-do lists, multitasking, running errands, not to mention work and the constant mind-shifting to scenarios that haven’t even happened yet. All leading up to lack of sleep and possibly severe stress.

I can’t tell you how many times I find myself getting caught up in my phone, or thinking about the future and stressing out about it. I constantly have to remind myself that the future isn’t here yet, or the social media posts I want to post, can wait. I don’t NEED to do it RIGHT NOW, even though, I feel like it’s now or never, or what’s the point.

I have to remind myself to stop and breathe and just accept where I am, right now, in my life.

As for when we begin to live ahead of our own time (aka mind-shifting) we start to take away two of the major gifts God has given us.

The present and our intuition.

When we have clear and calm minds, we open up ourselves to receiving messages from the divine. When we connect back to ourselves we receive our truth and our purpose. We end up having a clear understanding of where we are and how we can get better at acting vs reacting, in a world, that is way too over stimulating.

When this happens to me, I go back to the basics. The fundamentals, that we’ve all learned as children. It’s just that we forget to exercise them.

To help you connect back with your innate gifts, here are 5 simple tips to get you there.

SIGHT:
Look around you. What do you see? Be an observer of life. Your life. Be one with it.

HEAR: 
Listen. What do you hear? The sounds of nature? Be one with it.

FEEL: 
Touch. Make contact with your surroundings. Feel the wind or the hot sun on your face. Be one with it.

SMELL:
Inhale. What do you smell? Smell the fresh air, let it consume your lungs. Be one with it.

TASTE:
What’s going on in your mouth? The food you eat, or the water you drink. Be one with it and savour it.

By using your senses, you’ll be forcing yourself to be in the present. Period. 

It will help to calm your heart and bring peace to your mind. Go through each of these senses over and over again, all at once, until you feel you are out of your head and into your heart.

So go ahead, try it. Clear your mind. Make room for what needs to come through to help you get on the right path of living your purpose, by living in the now.
